Student Papers and Posters Program Committee - being formed

  • Michel Cukier, University of Maryland, USA, Chair
  • H.R. Vishwakarma, VIT University, Vellore, India, Vice Chair, CSI National Student Coordinator

The goal of the Student papers program is to encourage students to attend ISSRE and present their work, exchange ideas with researchers and practitioners, and get early feedback on their research efforts.

We invite original papers reporting research and practical results related to reliability, availability and dependability of software and software-based systems. The detailed list of topics can be found in the ISSRE 2009 Call for Papers.

Student papers are short technical articles that promote early communication of technical work and allow students to report on work in progress and introduce new ideas to the community. Student papers should not exceed 6 pages of dual column IEEE Style. The first author of the paper must be a student. Submissions must be unpublished and must not be submitted for publication elsewhere. The papers must be submitted electronically, through ISSRE Student paper submission page.

Student papers will be reviewed by the members of the Student Paper Program Committee. The selection will be based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the technical content of the conference
  • Originality
  • Technical soundness
  • Quality and clarity of the written presentation.

Students with accepted papers are expected to attend the conference and their papers will be printed in the ISSRE Supplemental Proceedings.

We invite the following categories of student contribution:

1. Short Paper - maximum 6 pages dual column IEEE format.
2. Poster - 3ft x 4ft to be displayed.

All selected papers and posters will appear in the ISSRE Supplemental proceedings. Depending on the volume of submissions and available time on the agenda, a subset or all of the selected papers will get a short-talk. If we run short of time on the agenda for student papers, they will get a slot to present it at the poster session. All selected posters will be displayed during a poster session.
