Call for Tutorials

We invite (1) instructors for as set of specific tutorials that we want at ISSRE 2009, and (2) proposals for tutorials and instructors. Instructors of selected tutorials will be compensated as described below. Tutorials CFP pdf

1. Specific Tutorials - Instructors
The Industry Workgroup for ISSRE 2009 has identified a few select topics of interst to industrry. We invite Instructors to teach half day or full day tutorials on these six topics. The Industry Committee will select the instructors based on their proposals.

The following set of tutorials topics were identified by the Industry Workgroup:
They are further described on the ISSRE bulletin board under the tutorials forum.

  • T1. Automation to improve reliability - Critique of Tools and Methods
  • T2. Advanced Reliability Prediction
  • T3. Agile and Test Driven Development for Reliabilty
  • T4. Concurrency and Many Core Testing for Reliability
  • T5. Experiences with Formal Methods for Reliability
  • T6. Defect Prevention Methods for Reliability

2. Tutorial Proposals
This is an open call for tutorials in that the proposer can present the topic and the justification why this is relevant along with their credentials. The instructors are also welcome to post their ideas on the ISSRE bulletin board to invite comments from the community.

Proposals Content
The proposals for tutorials or volunteers of instructors should address these issues in their proposal.

  1. Topic: Details of the content.
  2. Audience: Assumptions, background, and experience.
  3. Take Aways: What will the student learn, and what are the benefits to their job.
  4. Track Record: Instructor experience and feedback.

Instructor Compensation
Selected instructors will get free conference registration and 4 days of free stay at the conference resort. No cash payments or travel.
